Thanx, Jenn! Word-painting is an art-form in and of itself. Almost a lost art, judging by the quality (or lack thereof) of most modern writing -- on any subject, fiction or non-fiction.</p> <p>Christians were at the forefront of artistic expression until about the mid-Renaissance, when the church lost ground to the new humanism that was arising. And after the Protestant Reformation, too many Christians thought of art as "secular" or "worldly." Yet God created beautiful things. He didn't have to. After the Fall He could have cursed the earth even more, making it a dull, ugly place. But it isn't.
